Larnik

Guliona — the shared game catalog

The film catalog for video games: search Steam, MobyGames or IGDB, put games straight into your lists and link list items to them.

Guliona is Kinaznautsa for video games, and it works the same way in every respect worth knowing: search a games database from inside Larnik and put games straight into your lists, which are your collection. Every game anyone adds lands in one shared catalog for this Larnik, so the next person finds it there; your game fields, the values you type and the numbers on each card stay yours.

Only a reference is stored — provider, id, title, year and a cover reference — while developers, publishers, platforms, genres and the cover art itself are fetched on demand into a self-expiring cache.

Which database it searches

Depending on how this Larnik is set up, a search asks Steam, MobyGames (every platform back to the 1970s), IGDB (the richest data) — or several of them. With more than one, results come back grouped by which database answered, so you choose whose record you want. Every saved game remembers which database it came from.

Using it

Open ▦ → 🎮 Guliona on the home screen; everything works as the 🎬 screen does. Search, and + List puts a game into one of your lists. Below the results is the shared catalog, with All / In my lists and a title filter; each card names the database it came from and shows your counts and average. If no database can answer, search still finds what is already in the catalog. There is no button to remove a game from the catalog — delete or unlink the list item instead; entries that no list uses any more may be cleaned up from time to time.

Link items to a game with 🎮 Games next to the add-item box, or ✎ → 🎮 Link to a game… on an item you already have. As everywhere else, the linked item's title is a live read of the game while its notes stay its own, and an item can link to a game, a film or a Kufaryk object — one of the three, never two. Like the other modules, Guliona has to be switched on per list first (⚙ → Modules); a new list starts with it off.

Items on a Verhavod board can link to games too, once the board's owner switches Guliona on for the board.

Game fields

⚙ in the 🎮 header works exactly like movie fields: fields taken straight from the games database, or your own of any Larnik field type, each saying where it shows and whether its value belongs to the game or to each list item. A per-item rating field averages across every list where you played it.

Switching it off

Turning Guliona off for a list leaves existing data and links alone. If 🎮 Guliona is missing from the ▦ menu, it is turned off for this Larnik.
